How to Get Here

3 steps:

1. Find a flight to Athens: use Skyscanner.net to compare fare prices and routes from your city to Athens (tip: book directly with the airline- not a travel agent)

2. Book a flight from Athens to Kavala. The flight takes about 1 hour and you can book it from the Aegean Airlines here. There are two daily flights from Athens to Kavala: at 07.10 and 19.25. On Thursdays, there is only the evening 19.25 flight. Similarly, the return flight times from Kavala to Athens are 08.50 and 21.10.

3. Taxi tips to Thassos After landing in Kavala, you’ll take a taxi to the Kavala port, which is about a 10-minute ride from the airport. From there, you’ll board a ferry for a 30-minute trip (ferries run every 30-45 minutes). Once you arrive, you’ll take another taxi to your accommodation. You can pay for both the taxis and ferry tickets on the spot.

2 tips:

1. Skip step No3 above and rent a car from the Kavala airport upon arrival (you don’t need to book anything in advance) and then you can drive the car directly onto the ferry. Dimitri cannot recommend this enough.

2. Stay a while in Thassos, or explore Europe. You’ll be in a beautiful part of the world! While you’re here for the wedding, consider extending your stay to explore and soak in the sights in Thassos, or use Skyscanner.net to reavel around Greece or Europe.
